The Utah Jazz held trade conversations with the Atlanta Hawks about both Trae Young and Dejounte Murray, sources tell Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports. Utah also explored a trade with the Brooklyn Nets before Mikal Bridges. The Jazz had the idea of acquiring one to two additional co-stars around Lauri Markkanen to then pursue Paul George in free agency. The Hawks traded Murray to the New Orleans Pelicans last Friday.

After they were unable to achieve that plan, the Jazz are listening to trade offers on Markkanen. The Jazz are communicating that they still would like to renegotiate and extend Markkanen in August.

If Markkanen does become available, the Golden State Warriors, San Antonio Spurs, Sacramento Kings and Minnesota Timberwolves could become involved in discussions.
