The Charlotte Hornets are signing Moussa Diabate to a three-year standard contract. Diabate has been with the Hornets on a two-way deal this season.

As a result of their rescinded trade with the Los Angeles Lakers, Charlotte has an open roster spot. That spot will go to Diabate, who has outplayed his two-way deal this season.

In 42 games (five starts), Diabate has averaged 4.7 points and 7.1 rebounds in 19 minutes per game. Diabate was almost out of eligibility for NBA games. Two-way players are limited to being active for no more than 50 NBA games per season.
