Lakers Interested In Dwane Casey, Jacque Vaughn For Assistant Coach Job

Dwane Casey and Jacque Vaughn have emerged as possibly candidates for the coaching staff of J.J. Redick with the Los Angeles Lakers. The Lakers have prioritized experienced assistant coaches to help Redick in what will be his first coaching job beyond youth basketball.

Casey moved into a front office role with the Detroit Pistons after coaching the team for five seasons until 22-23. Vaughn has a long history as an assistant coach and spent the past season-and-a-half as head coach of the Brooklyn Nets.

Among the other publicly identified candidates are Scott Brooks, Sam Cassell, Jared Dudley and Ramon Rondo.
