The Los Angeles Lakers are not interested in trading away Austin Reaves in a deal with the Sacramento Kings for De'Aron Fox, sources tell Jake Fischer. When news of Fox's availability was reported this week, the absence of the Lakers from his list also leaked. Fox is represented by Rich Paul of Klutch Sports, who is uniquely plugged into the Lakers.
Reaves is averaging 18.2 points, 4.2 rebounds and 6.1 assists in 35.0 minutes over 40 games this season with the Lakers. Rivers can become a free agent in 2026 if he declines his 26-27 player option.
Reaves re-signed with the Lakers during the 2023 offseason on a four-year, $56 million deal. The San Antonio Spurs and Houston Rockets each had some level of interest in Reaves that offseason. Fox will earn $37 million in 25-26 and will command a max contract on his next deal.
