    Lakers To Honor Jerry West With No. 44 Band On Jersey

    The Los Angeles Lakers will honor Jerry West's No. 44 this season, the team announced on Wednesday.

    The Lakers will wear a No. 44 band on the left shoulder of their jersey throughout the season.

    West, who played all 14 years of his NBA career for the Lakers, passed away in June at the age of 86.

    The team will also honor West with a jersey giveaway on opening night.
