Lakers Unlikely To Make Major Trade At Deadline

The Los Angeles Lakers are unlikely to make a major move at the trade deadline, sources tell ESPN. The Lakers' recent dialogue with rival teams have shown "little sign of aggression." LeBron James and Anthony Davis have been urging the front office to improve the team's roster with the belief they are a player or two away from going on a playoff run.
The Lakers have shown a reluctance to trade future first round picks at this time and there is no indication that position has changed.
While the Lakers did seek out a win-now trade in acquiring Dorian Finney-Smith for multiple second round picks, they also sent out D'Angelo Russell in the process. Without Russell as trade ballast, the Lakers are now considered less likely to execute a major trade.
