The NBA is reopening an investigation into Los Angeles Lakers center Jaxson Hayes stemming from a 2021 incident following new video footage uploaded by TMZ.

"As a result of the media report and video posted this morning, we are reopening our investigation," said NBA spokesperson Mike Bass.

The new footage shows Hayes arguing with his then-girlfriend Sofia Jamora. The video shows Hayes, who was on the Pelicans at the time, appearing to pull Jamora out of a doorway.

Jamora could be heard on the video saying "I'm not going to let you hit me anymore" and "What the f--- do I look like, a punching bag?"

Hayes was arrested in Los Angeles for the original incident after a domestic disturbance call. He was then sentenced to three years of probation in 2022.

The NBA did not discipline Hayes following his initial arrest.

"We are cooperating with the league," the Lakers told ESPN on Saturday night.
