Scott Brooks, Sam Cassell, Jared Dudley, Rajon Rondo Emerge As Assistant Coach Options For Lakers

Scott Brooks, Sam Cassell, Jared Dudley and Rajon Rondo are amongst the candidates to join J.J. Redick's coaching staff with the Los Angeles Lakers, sources tell The Athletic.

Brooks most recently was an assistant coach with the Portland Trail Blazers, but his contract was not renewed.

Cassell joined the Boston Celtics as an assistant coach last offseason after previously working under Doc Rivers with the Philadelphia 76ers. Cassell also interviewed for the head coaching job with the Lakers.

Dudley was part of the Lakers' championship team in 2020 and then followed Jason Kidd to the Dallas Mavericks in 2021 as an assistant coach.

Rondo, who recently retired as a player, also played for the Lakers' title team in 2020.
