Lakers' LeBron James reveals how Luka Doncic 'inspires' next generation

As the Los Angeles Lakers take on the Houston Rockets on Monday night, it will be possibly be another opportunity to see the duo of LeBron James and Luka Doncic work their magic on the floor. Ever since the Lakers traded for Doncic in then blockbuster deal, people have been wanting to see how the two would play together and there is no doubt that the former Dallas Maverick has made an impression on James.
During the recent episode of the “Mind The Game” podcast with James and former NBA star Steve Nash, the latter would ask “What executed you about getting to play with Luka?” which garnered a positive response from the Los Angeles star. James would say that Doncic performs on a level of “how I’ve always wanted to inspire the generation to play the game.”
“Because he plays the game how I’ve always wanted to inspire the generation to play the game. And there’s nothing predetermined,” James said. “I’ve always loved the players that breathe so much confidence into his teammates, that make them believe that they’re actually better than what the f*** they really are. Luka has done that for seven years. I’ve been able to do this with a few of my teams. I mean, I don’t go to the NBA Finals in 2006 with that team if I’m not able to make them believe that they’re greater than what they are. Just give them that confidence.”

Lakers’ LeBron James speaks on Luka Doncic’s impact with teammates
As Doncic continues to build chemistry with the Lakers, there is already a bond formed with James and especially the team as said in his conversation with Nash. The Los Angeles star would also mention how there are great players where others would “run through a wall for you,” saying Doncic has that impact on his teammates.
“It makes them ultimately, they would do anything for you,” James said. “Run through a wall for you. You know? I mean, we saw that. Unfortunately, one of your teammates gets suspended in the postseason. You know, when you get chucked to the scores table, yeah, but that’s because you’ve given them so much confidence and so much belief.”
“You f****** touch Steve like you’re, I feel like you’re going after me,” James continued. “We built that bond. Y’all built that bond, you know, I’m saying so like, Luka has that. And I mean, he learned that from growing up in Slovenia to heading over to Madrid and learning the game the right way and playing at a professional level at what 13, 14 years old. And he brought that same model in that same game to the NBA from day one.”
At any rate, the Lakers are 45-29 which puts them fourth in the Western Conference before taking on the Rockets on Monday night as said before.
