Lakers' Luka Doncic astonished reaction to LeBron James' 50,000 points feat

The Luka Doncic trade has been everything the Los Angeles Lakers had hoped it would be and more. On Tuesday night, Doncic kept it rolling for the West’s second-seeded Lakers, dropping 30 points, eight rebounds, and 15 assists in a masterclass that only his stat-sheet stuffing teammate LeBron James could somehow manage to outshine. James crossed the 50,000-point mark for his career (regular season and playoffs combined) with a monster 34-point effort, and the two stars led the way for the Purple and Gold en route to a 136-115 win over the New Orleans Pelicans.
Considering how long James has been one of the best players in the association, it sometimes escapes the mind how great he truly is. It is definitely mind-boggling that James is the only player to score more than 50,000 points for one’s career — tallying nearly 6,000 more than the closest player (Kareem Abdul-Jabbar). And Doncic, who has long been a fan of James and is now getting to witness his stellar play up close and personal, thinks that the Lakers star can push for an even greater points tally.
“It’s amazing. Watching him do this stuff at this age?” Doncic said in his postgame presser, via ESPN’s Dave McMenamin. “50K points… I can't even explain how insane that is. And he might get to 70K, man. You never know.”

Indeed, it looks like James will be waiting for all of his children to reach the NBA (yes, including Zhuri somehow) before he officially hangs it up. After all, the Lakers star is looking fresh and capable of another five or so years in the association considering how well he’s playing at age 40.
Doncic’s arrival has made it even easier for the Lakers to keep James fresh, as it removes quite a ton of burden on James’ shoulders to create offense for the team. Never count anything out when it comes to James and how much he can achieve in his career.
Can Lakers’ Luka Doncic challenge LeBron James’ all-time scoring supremacy?
From a scoring standpoint, there is hardly anything the opposition can do to slow down Luka Doncic apart from hoping he misses the shots he usually makes. But the key for the new Lakers star if he were to challenge LeBron James’ all-time scoring record will be to stay healthy.
This is a must for Doncic; the Dallas Mavericks were worried he was going to break down sooner than later so they decided to trade him away instead. Regardless, if Doncic keeps up this level of play and stays healthy and plays well into his 40s, then he might have a shot. But even then, James’ all-time scoring record is something that looks like it will withstand the test of time.
