LeBron James returned from a groin strain in the Los Angeles Lakers’ game against the Chicago Bulls on Saturday night. This prompted a response from his co-star Luka Doncic.

James finished with 17 points, six rebounds and four assists after 31 minutes of action. He reflected on his performance after the game, saying he is taking things one day at a time when it comes to his health.

"I just take it day by day," James said. "I can't worry about what can happen in the future. But I got through today."

Doncic talked about his co-star’s return as well. Despite the 146-115 loss, he believes that the team will bounce back and have their lives be easier with James back on the court.

"He's back, so it's going to be easier for everybody," Dončić said. "He just makes the game easier for everybody around him."

The Lakers’ loss to the Bulls left a lot to be desired, especially on the defensive side of the ball. Regardless, having Luka Doncic and LeBron James back together will be key to the team succeeding on offense.

In the seven games James missed due to the groin strain he suffered on March 8, the Lakers went 3-4 in his absence. They averaged 111.6 points on 45.5% shooting from the field and 39.4% from beyond the arc but gave up 114.1 points. As a result, opponents beat them by a margin of 2.5 points per gamer.

Los Angeles has a 43-27 record on the season, holding the fourth spot in the Western Conference standings. They are 0.5 games behind the Denver Nuggets and 2.5 games behind the Houston Rockets.

Following Saturday’s loss to the Bulls, the Lakers will look to bounce back in their next matchup, being on the road. They face the Orlando Magic on March 24 at 7 p.m. ET.
