Lakers' Luka Doncic takes shot at officiating after Nets disaster

The Los Angeles Lakers’ eight-game winning streak came to an end on Saturday against the Boston Celtics. Then, in their first game without LeBron James since the groin injury, the Lakers lost to the Brooklyn Nets, 111-108, on Monday night.
It was a tough loss for the Lakers, who had a 12-point lead after the first quarter before the Nets scored 32 second-quarter points. LA was without James, Jaxson Hayes, Rui Hachimura and Dorian Finney-Smith as Gabe Vincent, Dalton Knecht and Alex Len were inserted into the starting five on Monday.
Luka Doncic led the way with a triple-double: 22 points, 12 rebounds and 12 assists, although Vincent led the Lakers in scoring with 24 points. After the loss, Doncic did not hold back on his frustration with the officiating.
“I’m not gonna say anything. But I think everybody saw the game so they know what happened,” Doncic said with a smirk.
The Lakers were whistled for 20 fouls in the game, while the Nets were called for 16. In the first half, Los Angeles shot just two free throws, and Doncic also expressed his dissatisfaction with that matter.
"It wasn't fair… but just gotta play the game. I gotta keep playing the game, but it was a lot,” Doncic said, per Luka Updates.
Doncic attempted just four free throws all game log, his fewest since February 19 against the Charlotte Hornets when he also had four free throw attempts.
Vincent and Trey Jemison III both had four fouls, while Austin Reaves, Alex Len and Jordan Goodwin had three fouls apiece, making things even more tricky for the Lakers’ rotation. The Nets didn’t have any players with four or more fouls and only Ziaire Williams had three fouls, so Doncic certainly was not happy with a lot of things about the officiating.
The Lakers next face off against the Milwaukee Bucks on the road on Thursday as they try and get back in the win column.
