What’s next for Luka Doncic, Lakers
His performance against the Denver Nuggets marks a big step for Luka Doncic as he progresses with the Los Angeles Lakers.
The first three games indicated rust as he was recovering from an injury. His first three games saw him put up 14.7 points, 6.7 rebounds and 5.3 assists on shooting splits of 36% overall and 20.8% from downtown.
Finally showing up as the main catalyst of the Lakers offense, Doncic showed his true capabilities as the top option for the team. The Nuggets were unable to get him out of rhythm, getting whatever shot he wanted as he firmly commanded the offense to see plenty of success.
Los Angeles currently has a 34-21 record, holding the fifth spot in the Western Conference standings. They are 0.5 games behind the Houston Rockets and two games behind the Nuggets.
Coming off Saturday’s win over the Nuggets, the Lakers prepare for their next matchup. They host the Dallas Mavericks on Feb. 25 at 10 p.m. ET.
