The Philadelphia 76ers season is going from bad to worse.

Star free-agent addition Paul George will miss at least two games with a bone bruise in his left knee, the team announced Thursday.

Philadelphia (2-12) hosts the Brooklyn Nets on Friday in NBA Cup action before welcoming the Los Angeles Clippers — George’s former team — on Sunday.

George missed the first five games of the regular season and most of the pre-season with the same injury. The team said George would be re-evaluated on Monday.

The nine-time All-Star appeared to re-aggravate the ailment on Wednesday when he landed awkwardly after jumping for a rebound in a loss against the Memphis Grizzlies.

George’s supposed co-star Joel Embiid, the 2022-23 NBA MVP, has played only three games this season, while rising star Tyrese Maxey missed seven contests with a hamstring injury.

George left the Clippers for a four-year, $212 million max deal with the 76ers in the off-season.
