The dust is still settling from days ago when Luka Doncic was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers for Anthony Davis. For players have now joined their new team, have talked about the trade, and looks like they’re ready to move on. On the other hand, some people had not been able to give their takes on the trade, and one of those include Shaq, who shared his thoughts on NBA on TNT.

The first thing Shaq talked about was the rumors of Doncic not being in shape, which apparently was one of the reasons that the Dallas Mavericks traded him.

“He doesn’t look out of shape to me, I need to know what the term means,” Shaq said. “Is it fat? Does he have a six-pack? Are we talking body fat? One of my friends just told me fat Luka is better than 99.9% of all guards in the league. If that’s the case why the let him go, I’d have to blame management because there are better ways to handle that.”

Shaq then briefly touched on Davis going to the Mavericks, and he has high expectations for the team in the near future.

“I think Dallas got better of the trade for the next two years,” Shaq said.

It feels like both teams won in the trade, but Doncic being moved still doesn’t seem right, and it might be something deeper into why he was traded.

Markieff Morris, who was traded with Luka Doncic to the Lakers, spoke about the conditioning rumors and came to the defense of his teammate.

"He's a great guy, man," Morris said to ClutchPoints. "Super low maintenance. Don’t need much. One of the only guys I've been on a team with that'll play though any injury if he can get on the court. I hear stuff about him not being in shape, but if you can go in an NBA game and get 30, 15, and 10 like it’s nothing, then I don't know what shape is. I don’t… I’m confused. You’ll see it really soon. You’ll make the suggestion of whether he’s in shape or not."

Morris is right: for a guy who seems to be out of shape, he is still dominating the league on a nightly basis. That doesn’t mean that he has an excuse not to work on his body, but as of now, it’s not affecting what he does on the court. With Doncic playing alongside LeBron James, he can help his new teammate try to find better ways to take care of his body.
