The Toronto Raptors rolled out a very inexperienced lineup in the final minutes of Tuesday’s game against the Orlando Magic but managed to secure a win.
Rookie Ja’Kobe Walter was the hero, hitting a game-winning three-pointer with 0.5 seconds remaining in the 114-113 victory.
Walter, who did start in the game, was on the floor with fellow rookie Jamal Shead, 10-day signee Orlando Robinson and two-way players Jared Rhoden and AJ Lawson, who is from Brampton, Ont.
Scottie Barnes, Immanuel Quickley, RJ Barrett and Jakob Poeltl all watched the dramatic finish from the sideline.
Barrett led the Raptors in scoring with 21 points. Barnes, Poeltl and Walter each had 17. Magic star Paolo Banchero led all scorers with 41.
The Raptors, 13th in the East, improved to 20-42 with the win.
