The Silver and Black make up a game postponed by the LA fires on January 11

Welcome to the Game Thread. Veterans of the Game Thread know how we do things around here, but for all you newbies we have a few rules. Our community guidelines apply and basically say be cool, no personal attacks, don't troll and don't swear too much.

The Spurs were in Los Angeles on January 11, but the game was postponed because of fires that caused widespread damage in the LA area and limited the availability for emergency services that are usually available for a large event like an NBA game. The game was rescheduled for tonight, displacing a game that would have been played between the Spurs and Magic, which is now rescheduled for April Fool's day, April 1.

The Lakers are without LeBron James, and are on the second night of a back-to-back. Also, Luka Doncic is nursing a calf injury, and although he's listed as probable in the injury report, he might be sitting out tonight because he hasn't been playing in back-to-back games. The bad news for the Spurs is that even without LeBron and Luka, this Lakers team has plenty of firepower to take care of the short-suited Spurs roster. Steph Castle and Devin Vassell have been playing well lately, and Keldon Johnson has been unstoppable off the bench, but this team hasn't stopped anyone from scoring since the All Star break, and they might just let Austin Reaves score a 50 piece on them tonight. It's still going to be fun if you can stay up late and watch this late night west coast contest. so let's get hopped up on caffeine and see if the Spurs can pull off an upset tonight. Even if they can't, let's hope we can get a solid performance from Castle as he runs away with the Rookie of the Year award.

Game Prediction:

John Turturro and Christopher Walken will be on the sidelines, but as their innie characters from the show Severance, and thus unaware that they're movie stars.

One final word:

GO SPURS GOOOO!!!
