The Spurs hope to hit their stride in Washington after a slow start to the Rodeo Road Trip

Welcome to the Game Thread. Veterans of the Game Thread know how we do things around here, but for all you newbies we have a few rules. Our community guidelines apply and basically say be cool, no personal attacks, don't troll and don't swear too much.

The Spurs play the team with the worst record in the NBA tonight, and you'd think it was the kind of game that the Spurs and their fan base could take for granted as a win. But that would be the wrong approach for a team that has been anything but reliable in the clutch lately, as they've played three consecutive road games decided by a single point and lost two of them. The Wizards have been playing better lately, winning three of their last five, all on the road. They have defeated some good teams this year, so it's not a game that you can take for granted as a win.

The Wizards have a complement of French stars, but Alex Sarr is out tonight, so Bilal Coulibaly will be the only Francophone on the court tonight on the Wizards for Victor to converse with. New additions Marcus Smart and Khris Middleton will not be available tonight, so it's probably up to the NBA's favorite cat dad, Jordan Poole to provide most of the scoring punch for Washington. Let's go, Spurs.

Game Prediction:

Jordan Poole distracts Victor Wembanyama before the game with pictures of his cats.

One final word:

GO SPURS GOOOO!!!
