The Spurs return home for a three game home stand as the season winds to a close

Welcome to the Game Thread. Veterans of the Game Thread know how we do things around here, but for all you newbies we have a few rules. Our community guidelines apply and basically say be cool, no personal attacks, don't troll and don't swear too much.

The Spurs are coming off of an encouraging effort against the Cleveland Cavaliers, where the game was close throughout, and while the Spurs played with a lot of effort and determination, they just couldn't deliver in crunchtime, which is something that Spurs fans have seen a few times this season. The loss will make the tankathon fans happy, while the solid effort will make the fans of team development satisfied. The only people left out are the crowd that feels that the Spurs ought to be good right now, but that doesn't seem realistic for a team missing its two best players and hall of fame coach, but maybe the road to hell is paved with unrealistic expectations. I'm pretty sure that's how the saying goes.

Tonight they face the defending champs, who are second in the East, but are playing better than the Cavs right now, and should be the favorites to repeat as champs. It should be an interesting game. I'm running late on this article, so I'm counting on the commenters to fill in the details.

Game Prediction:

Kristaps Porzingis will lose the opening jump ball to Bismack Biyombo and will be upset the rest of the game about it.

One final word:

GO SPURS GOOOO!!!
