After an encouraging effort against the Celtics, the Silver and Black face Golden State

Welcome to the Game Thread. Veterans of the Game Thread know how we do things around here, but for all you newbies we have a few rules. Our community guidelines apply and basically say be cool, no personal attacks, don't troll and don't swear too much.

The Warriors are currently in seventh place in the Western Conference, tied with the Clippers for sixth in wins and losses. They're looking to move up to avoid the play-in tournament, where a bad break or two can end the season for a playoff-ready team in the single-elimination tournament. The seventh place team would have to lose two games to be knocked out of the playoffs, but the sixth place is guaranteed of at least one seven game series against the third-place team, currently the Denver Nuggets. It's a huge difference for one place in the standings, and the Warriors will be pulling out all of the stops to win as many of their remaining games as they can. They will be playing the Spurs twice in their last nine games, once tonight and again on April 9.

Steph Curry was out for two games with a pelvic injury caused by a hard fall during the Warriors game over the Raptors on March 20. He returned Friday night against the Pelicans and led the team in scoring in a 11-95 win. He's listed as probable for tonight, and he should be ready to go after a day of rest. The Spurs have a rest disadvantage, but they have been playing with intensity today, and it will be interesting to see how well they can stack up against a Western Conference contender that's playing for seeding. I expect Steph Castle and Jeremy Sochan to rise to the occasion and make life hard for the Warriors tonight, so let's watch and find out.

Game Prediction:

The battle of the Stephs will be won by Castle tonight.

One final word:

GO SPURS GOOOO!!!
