Welcome to the Game Thread. Veterans of the Game Thread know how we do things around here, but for all you newbies we have a few rules. Our community guidelines apply and basically say be cool, no personal attacks, don't troll and don't swear too much.

It felt like the game on Wednesday night against the Clippers was close in the fourth, but a lot of veteran teams in the NBA don't play at full intensity for the entire game. The Clippers found another gear in the last four minutes and left the slumping Spurs eating their dust as they ran away to a 128-116 win. The Clippers put down the hammer, and they Spur were out of gas as they had already spent all of their energy coming back to make the game close and actually tying it up early in the fourth quarter.

It doesn't get easier for the Silver and Black tonight, as they face the Bucks, who beat the Spurs 121-105 on January 8 in Milwaukee with Giannis, Brook Lopez, and Damian Lillard all scoring more than 20, and Keldon Johnson as the only Spurs player over 20 with 24. Victor Wembanyama had only 14 points and didn't shoot a free throw, so he's going to need to play with more aggressiveness to give the Spurs a shot a willing. The Spurs have lost 8 of their last 10 games, and two in a row leading up to tonight. Their longest loss streak of the season is three games, and if they match that tonight with a loss, it seems likely that the streak could be extended to at least 4 when they face the Miami Heat tomorrow night.
