A Ja Morant-less Grizzlies somehow made the Silver and Black look worse than Wednesday's contest.

Coming off a tough loss to the Memphis Grizzlies this past Wednesday, the Spurs came into Friday's rematch hoping to get back on the winning track. Jeremy Sochan missed his fourth straight game and Ja Morant was also out. The first half was a back-and-forth track meet with the Spurs leading 64-62 going into the third. The third quarter was also competitive until the last three minutes. With the teams tied 86-86, the Grizzlies proceeded to go on a 16-0 run to close out the quarter. The Grizzlies outscored 38-26 in the fourth and ultimately won 140-112.

Victor Wembanyama dropped a near triple-double with blocks with 19 points, 12 rebounds and six blocks. He also dropped three assists and a steal. This was a slightly similar but better performance all-around. However, he has not had his usual offensive explosion game in January.

NOPE. Wemby rejects Luke Kennard off the glass!

Wemby drained three threes, including this open laser from the corner!

AREA 51: Wemby slams down the lob from the Steph Castle on the fastbreak!

Stephon Castle dropped another 20-piece with four rebounds, four assists, and a steal. He only played 25 minutes due to the game slipping away in the fourth, but sooner or later he will eclipse the 30-point mark.

BACK TO BACK CASTLE SLAMS! The first slam came off a Chris Paul dime during a pick and roll!

Castle loses Jaylen Wells by performing a half spin move and drives in with two hands for safety!

Here's another look!

Too easy! Castle glides into the lane and finishes with the left hand for the layup!

AND-ONE! Wemby finds Steph in the paint for the tough and-one finish over multiple defenders!

Devin Vassell dropped a team-high 21 points, five assists, and two rebounds. Most of his points came in the second half before he was yanked out of the game late in the fourth.

BANG. Dev knocks down a three from the wing after Keldon Johnson picked up the steal!

MAKE WAY FOR FLIGHT 24! Dev grabs the defensive rebound and takes it coast-to-coast for the skying slam! Watch for the sick behind-the-back move on Jake LaRavia!

Charles Bassey had a solid game off the bench with 12 points, nine rebounds, and two blocks. Here, he deflects Wells's shot and completely swats Brandon Clarke's shot away!

BOOM! CB slams home the Harrison Barnes lob with one hand!

Another lob, another JAM! This time Dev and CB run the pick and roll and it ends in a Bassey slam!

If you told Spurs fans that the Grizzlies would be playing in the rematch without Ja Morant, they'd probably like their odds of winning. However, that couldn't be further from the case. The Spurs' defensive effort late in the third and during the fourth was abysmal. The Grizzlies are currently the third seed in the west, but this was an inexcusable loss.

Finally, here are the full game highlights.

The Spurs take on the Miami Heat at the Kaseya Center this Sunday at 2:00 P.M. (CST) on FDSN-SW.
