Open Thread: Stephon Castle had a career assist night against the 76ers

The ROTY contender keeps showing why his name is at the top of the list
For the first time in 2025, the Silver & Black won two in a row. The first was on a record setting night for Sandro Mamukelashvili and the latter on a night when Stephon Castle dished out a career high fourteen assists.
For a Spurs rookie, the most assists goes to Johnny Moore who tallied nineteen in a January 11, 1981 win against the Washington Bullets. Moore's record goes untouched thus far, but Castle still etched his name into the annals of Spurs history.
His fourteen assists ties Alvin Robertson's rookie season November 17, 1984 game. He hit the mark against the Houston Rockets. Unfortunately, the Spurs were not victorious despite the impressive output by Robertson.
Castle's dimes were enough to help push the Spurs past the debilitated Philadelphia 76ers. Both teams were without key players. The Spurs missing Victor Wembanyama and De'Aaron Fox. The 76ers without Joel Embiid, Paul George, and Tyrese Maxey.
In addition to Castle, six other Spurs scored in double figures including Chris Paul who was red hot from beyond arc.
The younger crew is taking a bigger role as the season winds down. Time and again, they are rising to the challenge. If the last two games are any hint of things to come, with a healthy roster, the Spurs will be future contenders.
