The mega fan decorated her entire life around the team she adored
There are Spurs fans, and there are Spurs superf ans...and then there was Sovia Lauriano.
Sovia was no ordinary Spurs fan. Over the years, multiple photos appeared in newspapers and posts, not becuase she was the focus of the post, but because she was always there, in the crowd cheering on her Spurs — for every game, every Spurs event, every celebration, in full Silver & Black regalia. Her fandom knew no bounds.
The Spurs Lady, as she was known, even had her own fiesta medals.
Lauriano battled some health issues, even making the news for having to miss games while in the hospital. At the time, the well-wishes ranged from friends and family to fans and the Spurs Organization.
On Saturday, her family confirmed that the beloved fan passed away from a heart attack.
In 2024, she famously postponed surgery to make a road trip to Springfield that summer to visit the Naismith Hall of Fame and experience the induction of Pop, Tony Parker, Becky Hammon, and Pau Gasol.
Immediately after the announcement of her passing, a monumental outpouring of love began to fill social media.
Everyone knew Sovia Lauriano as "the Spurs Lady".

To the Spurs organization, she was much more; a friend to many on staff, a devoted season-ticket member, a bringer of breakfast tacos, a maker of intricate game night costumes and a familiar face in the community.

On a personal level, over the years I saw and shared many conversations her at dozens of events that we both attended. Whether it was get an autograph or support a community cause, Sovia always came dressed to impress and share her love of the San Antonio Spurs.
She created her own Spurs wardrobe, designing the costumes and outfits she wore, which truly made her one of a kind.
Rest in Peace, dear friend.
