Recap: OKC Blue fall short in 121-116 OT loss to Santa Cruz Warriors

During field trip day, the G League’s OKC Blue suffered a 121-116 overtime loss to the Santa Cruz Warriors on Wednesday. The loss drops the Blue’s record to 11-12 on the season.
After trailing by three points following the first quarter, the Blue utilized a 34-point second quarter to enter halftime with a 63-60 lead.
OKC added to its lead in the third quarter with a 35-point frame and entered the final period with a nine-point advantage. An 18-6 run by the Warriors to start the fourth quarter erased the Blue’s lead and turned it into a one-point contest.
Both teams exchanged buckets in the final five minutes as neither created distance on the scoreboard. With eight seconds left, Keyontae Johnson missed a floater and the game went into overtime.
The G League’s overtime is decided by who scores seven points first, the Warriors quickly rattled off a 7-2 run to come away with the close win. Usman Garuba hit the game-winning 3-pointer to seal the result.
The Blue shot 47% from the field and went 17-of-41 (41.5%) from 3. They dished out 20 assists on 45 baskets. Five Blue players scored double-digit points.
Meanwhile, the Warriors shot 46% from the field and went 22-of-52 (42.3%) from 3. They tallied 28 assists on 42 baskets. Seven Warriors players scored double-digit points.

- Lindy Waters III: 34 points on 12-of-18 shooting, 6-of-10 from 3, four rebounds, three steals, two assists
- Adam Flagler: 20 points on 7-of-16 shooting, 4-of-8 from 3, four assists, four rebounds
- Ousmane Dieng: 15 points on 7-of-13 shooting, 11 rebounds, nine assists
- Keyontae Johnson: 14 points on 7-of-13 shooting, six rebounds, two assists
- Javan Johnson: 27 points on 8-of-17 shooting, 8-of-16 from 3, three assists
- Usman Garuba: 16 points on 7-of-14 shooting, 2-of-3 from 3, 16 rebounds, four blocks
- Jackson Rowe: 13 points on 4-of-9 shooting, 3-of-8 from 3, 11 rebounds, four assists
