Representation at the All-Star weekend!
NBA All-Star Weekend is coming to the Bay Area in a few weeks, and the hometown Golden State Warriors will have some representation. We all knew that Steph Curry, who was elected as an All-Star starter for the 10th time in his career (and 11th time total) would rep the Dubs in Sunday's All-Star Game. But now we know that a pair of his teammates will also be staying in town for the weekend. On Tuesday it was announced that center Trayce Jackson-Davis and guard Pat Spencer were chosen for the 2025 Castrol Rising Stars game.
Like so much of All-Star Weekend, the Rising Stars game is getting a little bit of a makeover. 21 first and second-year players were chosen, and will be drafted into three seven-player teams. Those teams, along with a fourth team comprised of the seven chosen G League players, will have a four-team tournament on Friday, February 14, at the Chase Center. The winning team will then enter the four-team tournament on Sunday, February 16, against the three All-Star squads.
Jackson-Davis, the No. 57 pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, is one of 11 sophomores chosen, along with draftmates Victor Wembanyama (No. 1), Brandon Miller (No. 2), Scoot Henderson (No. 3), Amen Thompson (No. 4), Bilal Coulibaly (No. 7), Cason Wallace (No. 10), Dereck Lively II (No. 12), Gradey Dick (No. 13), Keyonte George (No. 16), and Jaime Jaquez Jr. (No. 18).
The 10 rookies from the 2024 NBA Draft are Zaccharie Risacher (No. 1 pick), Alex Sarr (No. 2), Stephon Castle (No. 4), Zach Edey (No. 9), Bub Carrington (No. 14), Jared McCain (No. 16), Dalton Knecht (No. 17), Tristan da Silva (No. 18), Yves Missi (No. 21), and Jaylen Wells (No. 39).
Spencer's six teammates on the G League squad are JD Davison, Bryce McGowens, Leonard Miller, Dink Pate, Reed Sheppard, and former Warriors Summer League star Mac McClung.
