2020 Los Angeles Lakers champion guard Danny Green pointed out the one important lesson Lakers All-Star Luka Doncic can learn from his superstar teammate, LeBron James. As retired NBA players and champions such as Shaquille O’Neal weigh in on the Doncic trade, Green gave his take on how James can help Luka become a better player in Los Angeles.
Green spoke on James’ potential influence on Doncic, per ESPN.
“It sounds like he’s pretty hurt and upset. He doesn’t sound excited at all,” Green said. “But I think once he puts the uniform on that’ll change once he gets in practice and gets some reps with LeBron. But the biggest criticism we’ve heard about Luka thus far is his body, and how he hasn’t taken care of it. So, that’s probably the most important thing he can learn from LeBron. If anybody has the blueprint of making your career last a long time, it’s LeBron James.”
Perhaps productive offseason workouts and a new daily regimen are on tap for Doncic.
“So, he can take some of those things in the summertime, working on his body even during the season,” Green added. “Having the right people around him, taking care of him, making sure he’s getting a stretching arm to play a full lengthy career. So, that’s the biggest thing. And on the court, I don’t how this is going to work. That’s going to be challenging because they do a lot of the same things. But offensively, they’re unbelievable threats. Very impressive. It’s going to be very exciting basketball to watch offensively. They’ve got to figure out defensively.
“Hopefully, they can get another big or two before the deadline. But honestly, the biggest thing he can learn from LeBron is how to take care of his body.”

Luka Doncic is formally introduced by Lakers front office
The Lakers formally introduced Luka Doncic to their organization this week. Doncic is excited to join forces with the four-time champion LeBron James.
Doncic has already mentioned him as someone he can learn from now that they’re Lakers teammates.
"It’s like a dream come true," Doncic said. "I always looked up to him. There are so many things I can learn from him, and I’m just excited. Just to learn everything, and I get to play with him. So, it’s an amazing feeling."
Doncic joined his new Lakers teammates on the bench in street clothes amidst their 122-97 win against the Clippers.
