Dallas Mavericks star Anthony Davis provided an update on his recovery from injury.
Davis has been absent from the hardwood after suffering a left adductor strain in his Mavericks debut against the Houston Rockets on Feb. 8. He has been on the sidelines since, presenting questions on what will be the exact timing of his return.
Davis did an interview with basketball reporter Dorothy Gentry on Sunday. She asked him about the progress in his recovery from the injury, which the star big man made sure to provide optimism for Dallas fans.
“Working every single day. As soon as I get back on the floor, I’m going to bring that same energy I brought in the first game that I played,” Davis said.

What’s next for Anthony Davis, Mavericks
It is a positive update for the Dallas Mavericks to see Anthony Davis getting close to a full recovery.
Before the injury, Davis delivered an excellent performance for the Mavericks. He had 26 points, 16 rebounds, seven assists, and three blocks. His ability to impact the game on both sides of the ball is crucial for the team’s championship hopes. What matters now for Dallas is he returns to full strength and avoids any further injuries as the season winds down.
In the meantime, the Mavericks will continue to have Kyrie Irving, Klay Thompson, PJ Washington, and others play key roles to helping the team. While the team performance is different, being 4-4 following Davis’ injury, they must persevere through the situation as they make their push for the playoffs.
Dallas has a 32-29 record on the season, holding the 10th spot in the Western Conference standings. They are even with the Sacramento Kings while trailing the Minnesota Timberwolves and Golden State Warriors by 0.5 games.
The Mavericks prepare for their next matchup, being at home. They host the Kings on Monday night at 8:30 p.m. ET.
