After a couple of clutch wins, the Spurs look their second three game win streak of the season

Welcome to the Game Thread. Veterans of the Game Thread know how we do things around here, but for all you newbies we have a few rules. Our community guidelines apply and basically say be cool, no personal attacks, don't troll and don't swear too much.

The Spurs have already beaten Portland twice this season, and they don't meet again after tonight until April 6. A victory tonight would show that this year's team is progressing by winning over the teams that they should beat. Although the Blazers are near the bottom of the Western Conference standings, they are a talented and dangerous squad, coming off of a 126-124 victory over the Nuggets, the same night that the Spurs defeated the Hawks in overtime by seven points. The game last week showed that Portland's size could provide problems for the Spurs, who are short on talented bigs other than Victor Wembanyama. The bad news on that front is that DeAndre Ayton is back in the lineup for the Blazers, and Victor will probably counter that by bringing him out to the perimeter and forcing him to defend Wemby's three point shot. The Spurs will also need to contain Anfernee Simmons and Jerami Grant, both of whom had big games in the last meeting.

The Trail Blazers are likely to remember the Spurs furious comeback to win last week's game, and try to do a better job of maintaining their poise late. This should be a fun watch, and tonight will be one of the last home games for a while, since the Spurs will play nine of their next 11 games on the road. The early season has had more home games than road games, and that's going to change after tonight. After tonight, the Spurs play on the road 31 times vs just 23 times at home, and the Spurs currently have a 10-7 record in the Frost Bank arena, and are 4-6 on the road.

Game Prediction:

Jerami Grant will refuse to pass the ball to his teammates after they miss several wide open shots after passes from him.

One final word:

Go Spurs GOOOOOO!!
