Victor Wembanyama is the first player in NBA history to have a stat line of 42 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals, 4 blocks, and 7 threes. Also, Wemby, Vassell, and Sochan combined for 85 points.

Coming off a loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves on Sunday, the Spurs looked to get back on track with a win versus the visiting Atlanta Hawks. The Spurs debuted a new starting lineup with Chris Paul, Devin Vassell, Harrison Barnes, Jeremy Sochan, and Victor Wembanyama. This game was a back-and-forth affair with 15 lead changes and 14 ties. Toward the end of the fourth quarter, the Spurs and Hawks traded back-to-back threes until Chris Paul nailed a four-point play. With a two-point lead, the Spurs could not stop Deandre Hunter's poster dunk on Wemby to tie the game and force overtime. However, Hunter failed to realize he had poked the bear. Wemby scored eight of the Spurs' 13 points in OT, and the Spurs prevailed 133-126.

Victor Wembanyama had an absolutely spectacular game with 42 points, six rebounds, five assists, four blocks, and two steals.

Vic had seven threes in the game, including this logo four point play late in the first!

With so much attention drawn to Wemby, he finds Keldon Johnson under the basket for the easy two!

Continuation is your friend. Wemby drives and draws the foul on Larry Nance Jr. for the and-one!

Imagine being in the middle of a pump fake and still nailing a three. That's Wemby for you!

He is the youngest player in NBA history to make an all-defensive team, and he'll win the DPOY with stops like this! After sticking Trae Young, Wemby rejects Clint Capela for the shot clock violation!

This time, Wemby takes Capela to school on offense for the and-one!

NO SIR! Wemby deflects the lob at the rim!

AREA 51: After the Julian Champagnie steal, Wemby finds Stephon Castle for the lob slam!

Another angle? Of course!

TOUGH. Wemby nails the difficult shot over Nance Jr. while falling!

Another laser! Wemby pulls off the stepback on Capela for the three!

Do not put Bogdan Bogdanovic on Wemby. Wemby exposes the mismatch for the easy paint bucket!

Make way for flight 1! Wemby cuts to the paint and slams it down with two hands for safety!

How about a clutch three from deep? Wemby takes the lead back for the silver and black with his SEVENTH three!

Devin Vassell had a solid game with 23 points, four rebounds, two assists, and two steals.

Devin drained FIVE threes in the game, including this one late in the first!

Jeremy Sochan also had a solid game with 20 points, eight rebounds, four assists, two blocks, and a steal.

Finish what you started! Jeremy kicks off the ball movement and ends up being the recipient at the end with two points in the paint.

Right place, right time. Jeremy finds himself alone under the basket for the easy dunk!

Let's revisit that Wemby alley-oop. This time, focus on Jeremy's backward finish. It wasn't a clean dunk, but it still counts for two!

Chris Paul was Mr. Clutch. He finished with 12 points (10 were in the fourth and OT), eight assists, seven rebounds, four steals, and a block.

CLUTCH. While down by three, Chris Paul pulls up and drains a quick three while getting fouled for the four point play!

DAGGER. Up by four late in OT, CP3 nails the dagger three to put away the Hawks for good!

Stephon Castle dropped seven points, a rebound and a steal.

Here, Steph and Charles Bassey run the pick and roll to perfection with an alley-oop!

AREA 51 REVISITED: Take another look at the Castle slam!

Harrison Barnes finished with six points, three rebounds, two assists, and a steal. Off of the deflection, HB picks up the ball and slams it down!

What a whale of a game! It seemed like neither team held an edge until the final moments. Wemby continues to dazzle basketball fans with numerous highlights with a dash of revenge on Deandre Hunter, Devin and Jeremy had great games, and CP3 turned into Mr. Clutch. With this team at full strength again, they look to not be slowing down anytime soon.

Finally, here are the full game highlights.

The Spurs take on the Portland Trail Blazers this Saturday at 7:30 P.M. (CST) on FDSN-SW.
