Report: Devin Vassell to return to action on Wednesday vs. Lakers

The Spurs could get Keldon Johnson back on Tuesday and Vassell in the second leg of the back-to-back against the Lakers.
It has been a rough season for Devin Vassell. After missing preseason and the first nine games of the year recovering from foot surgery, he made his debut off the bench against the Jazz on November 9. Four games later, he was out again with a knee issue. Fortunately, his return is imminent, according to reports.
Vassell is listed as out for Tuesday's game against the Jazz but is expected to be available for Wednesday's bout with the Lakers in San Antonio, according to San Antonio Express-News' Tom Orsborn:
Spurs officially list Vassell (knee) as out for Tuesday at Utah. But, again, he's expected to return Wednesday vs. the Lakers. His recovery doesn't allow for him yet to play in b2bs, so Spurs opted for him to return at home.

Johnson (hamstring) is probable for Tuesday.
The Spurs have done well in Vassell's absence, going 3-1, but will be happy to see him back to provide more firepower. He'll likely continue to come off the bench, as he was to start the season, to get his rhythm back but should provide some good minutes even if he's not in his best form yet. Mitch Johnson and the rest of the coaching staff will face a tough decision once he's fully in shape since the starting lineup featuring Stephon Castle and Julian Champagnie at the wing has done well, but a healthy Vassell would be hard to keep in the second unit.
The bench could get another scorer soon, as Keldon Johnson, who missed the game against the Warriors, is listed as probable for Tuesday's game against the Jazz.
