It has been a banner season for the pitcher/designated hitter

I know this is a basketball blog, more specifically a Spurs site, but this event was so big it transcended. The first three reactions I saw were from LeBron James, Magic Johnson, and Joel Embiid.

Shohei Ohtani joined the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2018. The Japanese-born pitcher and designated hitter turned thirty this past summer and is making this his year.

Ohtani is the first player in MLB history to accumulate 50 homeruns and 50 stolen bases.

A tweet added to the list of accomplishments procured during the Ddodger's Thursday night game against the Miami Marlins:

"Since the RBI became official in 1920, only one MLB player has had, over the course of his entire career (same game or not), a games with 10+ RBI, a game with 6+ hits, a game with 5+ XBH, a game with 3+ HR, a game with 2+ SB. That one player is Shohei Ohtani. He did all of this today."

A pretty incredible feat. He's being called "otherworldly," "unreal," and "insane!"

The win clinches the Los Angeles Dodgers a playoff berth.

Ohtani's reaction (through an interpreter):

"I'm equally ecstatic with both experiences I had. The biggest thing for me was being able to finally achieve the dream of playing in a postseason game."
